Udaipur, Rajasthan

The last stop of our trip took us to Udaipur. Known as the Venice of the East, this City of Lakes has a romantic setting that is unmatched in Rajasthan. The peaceful Lake Pichola sparkles against a backdrop of the Aravalli mountains, Palaces, and the city’s natural charm. It felt like a world away from the madness of Delhi. Our hotel, The Leela Palace, sat right on the banks of Lake Pichola. The breathtaking view from our room oversaw the City Palace, The Taj Palace and the lush green landscape that surrounds the city. The palaces and monuments gleams by day and glows by night. The view at night was a fairy-tale of palaces floating on the lake’s water. We had a couple of days to enjoy the tranquillity of boat rides, the quaint old-world feel, and everything the city had to offer. This part of the trip was dedicated to relaxing before we headed back home and it was just the perfect place to end our incredible journey. Udaipur is India’s hidden gem!
